The federal government announced today that the Federal Treasury Board has approved $168.5 million to help fund the Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir Project (SR1). This is huge news. Coupled with the recent announcement of significant land acquisitions for the project, it seems inconceivable it will not be supported by political parties of all stripes. Province approves $15 million for Bow River flood mitigation projects
The Government of Alberta has announced $15 million in funding for two critical Bow River flood mitigation projects; the Downtown Barrier and the Upper Plateau Separation Project in Sunnyside-Hillhurst. The funds are provided through the Alberta Community Resilience Program (ACRP) and are in addition to the grants previously announced for these projects in May 2018. BREAKING: Robinson family agrees to sell land needed for Springbank Project
This afternoon, the Government of Alberta announced that it has reached an agreement with the Robinson family to acquire 188 hectares (465 acres) of land required for the Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir (SR1).
