SR1 approved by provincial cabinet, construction expected in late-spring 2022
One of the biggest remaining hurdles for the Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir project (SR1) was provincial cabinet approval of the Natural Resources Conservation Board (NRCB) decision. That hurdle has now been cleared. Effectively, the Provincial and Federal regulatory approval processes are now concluded, and our Provincial Government is officially committed to completing SR1. On Thursday, the federal Minister of Environment and Climate Change issued his decision regarding the Springbank Off-stream Reservoir (SR1) Project. The decision concludes that the project is not expected to cause significant adverse environmental effects after taking into account the proposed mitigations. Read the decision here.
