Call to action: Provide comments to CEAA on Springbank Project environmental impact
The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) has accepted the revised Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the Springbank Off-Stream Reservoir, submitted by Alberta Transportation on March 29, 2018.
The CEAA now invites public comments on the potential environmental effects of the project and the proposed measures to prevent or mitigate those effects as described in the EIA, deadline May 31, 2018.
After a similar public consultation period in November 2016, the CEAA reported that 97 per cent of the 1,000 responses received were opposed to the Springbank Project.
WE MUST DO BETTER, WE NEED YOUR VOICE!
CRCAG is currently drafting a letter to the CEAA and we encourage everyone to send in their comments as well.
We have drafted a letter for you to use. However, individualized submissions tend to have a stronger impact on these processes, so we request that you include your own words in addition to our suggestions.
Let the CEAA hear your voice loudly and clearly…DO THIS RIGHT NOW:
