As part of a public engagement campaign, the Calgary River Valleys Project (CRVP) is hosting a series of in-person drop-in sessions and virtual events to seek feedback on floodplain policy and land use decisions.

The Government of Alberta recently released draft updated Flood Hazard Area maps for the province. In the new approach, there are now three degrees of Flood Fringe hazard area zones: High Hazard Flood Fringe, Flood Fringe and Protected Flood Fringe. It’s now up to the City to decide how to regulate land development in each of these areas.
