City Council approves report and highlights commitment to flood mitigation measures
At yesterday morning’s meeting, Council unanimously approved the Flood Mitigation Measures Assessment Report, including all six recommendations.
Addressing accusations that the City’s commitment to flood mitigation is unclear, Mayor Nenshi asserted that, while the matter has not been top of the headlines recently, much work continues to be done. He went on to explain that he has emphasized to the Province the City’s commitment to the matter of flood mitigation.
Councillor Farrell suggested that the City could do more to communicate to citizens that flood mitigation is top priority, and that they have not lost focus. The Mayor agreed and said he would be speaking at the upcoming CRCAG AGM to make this point.
Show Mayor Nenshi and other elected officials that the matter of flood mitigation in Calgary continues to be of the utmost importance to you! Attend the AGM on April 25, 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Dicken’s Pub.
