CRCAG’s responses to the Calgary River Valleys Project survey — deadline March 3

February 27, 2024 by CRC Action Group in News

Further to the newly released draft provinical Flood Hazard Maps, the City of Calgary is inviting public feedback on future floodplain policies and regulations for existing and new zones.

We recognize digesting the survey materials and responding is a daunting effort, thus this resource has been provided as information for members to consider as they craft their own responses.

CRCAG’S RESPONSES TO THE CALGARY RIVER VALLEYS PROJECT SURVEY

We’re into the final week of engagement, with only a few public sessions remaining and the Calgary River Valleys Project’s survey deadline of March 3 looming.

Please read our full detailed post on this matter here: Calgary River Valleys Project – Flood Hazard Mapping and Development Rules: PUBLIC INPUT

The survey has more than 40 questions on regulations in flood hazard zones, plus more specific topics including secondary suites, residential density, land uses, building and site design, and climate change.

CRCAG’s board and committees have met to discuss the survey and potential responses. We’ve crafted a resource package that details the responses that were agreed upon. The document also provides additional context and comments where necessary.

At the front of the PowerPoint deck, there is a  quick “how to read” guide. Or you can watch this quick 2-minute video overview from our Communications Director, Erin Fahey.

Submit the survey at engage.calgary.ca/rivervalleys

Thank you for your attention to this matter and we encourage you to submit your comments by March 3!

Regards,

CRCAG Board
