What you need to know: Springbank Project Environmental Impact Assessment

November 15, 2017 by CRC Action Group in News

Now that the EIA has been submitted to the provincial Natural Resources Conservation Board (NRCB), and the federal Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) for initial review, the documents have been made public.

To keep you as up-to-date as possible, we’ve compiled the essential links and documents here:

  • SR1 schedule – project timeline and milestones
  • SR1 EIA technical briefing – overview of the project, as presented to stakeholders at the October 30th briefing
  • SR1 EIA summary – an excerpt from full EIA, includes table outlining EIA categories (i.e. Air Quality and Climate, Hydrology, Wildlife and Biodiversity, etc), potential effects and proposed mitigation for each
  • Access all EIA documents (copy/paste link) – ftp://ftp.gov.ab.ca/env/fs/EIA/2017-10-AlbertaTransportationSpringbankOffStreamReservoirProject/

Regarding next steps, the NRCB and CEAA will review the EIA and request what further information they feel is required to be included, from the project’s proponent, Alberta Transportation. Once that process is finished and the EIA is complete, the review and hearing process will begin.

As always, we will continue to update you as new information becomes available. You can reach us at info@crcactiongroup.com.
