Dear Calgary River Communities Action Group,

This letter is a request for the Calgary River Communities Action Group’s (“CRCAG”) membership to respond a survey that Dr. Blair Feltmate and I are conducting within the Faculty of Environment, University of Waterloo.

The purpose of the survey is to quantify views of the Disaster Response Program (“DRP”) from the perspective of CRCAG members who have had experience with the DRP in the aftermath of the 2013 “Calgary floods.” Member experience could extend from making inquiries of the DRP, to submitting claims.

Findings generated from this survey may help administrators of the DRP (and similar programs beyond Alberta), and Public Safety Canada’s Disaster Financial Assistance Arrangements program, to improve aspects of DRP program administration going forward.  A report will follow from the data received from the survey submissions which will result in a high degree of exposure in the Canadian Press, major insurance publications and academia.

Respondents to the survey will be given anonymity.
