Town Hall Meeting Notice Oct 24

It has been three months since our initial town hall meeting on July 23. Much work has been done and much work remains to be done.

Please join us on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 6:00-8:30 pm at the Temple B’nai Tikvah located in Britannia at 900 – 47th Ave SW. to learn more about proposed upstream flood mitigation and the Disaster Recovery Program (DRP). Speakers will include:

  • Allan Markin, Richard Lindseth and other members of the Flood Advisory Panel to provide more information about upstream flood mitigation proposals currently under consideration (includes ideas for Bow, Elbow and Highwood rivers).
  • Andre Corbould, Chief Assistant Deputy Minister of the Flood Recovery Task Force.
  • John Conrad, Executive Director Provincial Operations, Alberta Emergency Management Agency, to provide more information about the DRP and how funding is determined.
  • Representatives from various levels of government to speak about the commitment to upstream flood mitigation.
  • Doors will open at 6 pm and presentations will commence at 6:30pm. The meeting is open to all members of the Calgary River Communities Action Group (CRCAG).
