Land Use Bylaw Update- Motion to Table

May 9, 2014 by CRC Action Group in News

CRCAG has received confirmation from Councillor Carra that he will be moving a motion to table the Land Use Bylaw Amendments for 30 days in order for Administration and Council to review the proposed amendments in light of concerns that community members have highlighted and to engage in a consultative process. The Mayor’s office and other Councillors have confirmed to us that this is the plan for Monday May 12, 2014 and that the expectation is that the tabling will pass. CRCAG will have representatives at the Council meeting should the matter come up for discussion nonetheless.

The next Council date where these LUB changes may be brought forward for discussion by Council is, we understand, June 9, 2014. We look forward to engaging with Administration and Council in this consultative process and will keep our members fully appraised of the situation.

We would also like to thank all of you who wrote emails and letters on this matter or spoke to your Councillors. We were told directly that this made the difference. As always, thanks so much for your ongoing input and support.
