Harvey brings destruction and heartbreak to the Gulf states

August 31, 2017 by CRC Action Group in News

This week our thoughts are with everyone in the US Gulf Coast. The amount of devastation Hurricane Harvey has brought is heartbreaking, and we know all too well that there will be a very long and hard road ahead for those affected by the storm.

To put in in perspective, in June 2013 over 200 mm of rain fell over southern Alberta in less than two days. Hurricane Harvey has brought over 1000 mm of rain.

Adding to the burden, it is estimated that only two of 10 homeowners have insurance coverage and “total out-of-pocket costs for flooded homeowners could reach $28 billion, the largest in U.S. history.”

As the Gulf states pick up the pieces, many of us are left wondering how we can help. A helpful list of reputable organizations can be found here.

If you have a story of how you plan to help the victims of Harvey, we would love to hear about it. Email us at info@crcactiongroup.com.
